Family owned Chinese food with big taste. I think I've been going there since I was eight years old. Anything on the menu is excellent. The staff is very knowledgeable.

The Chinese Garden Restaurant is a restaurant in a strip mall that offers a $6.99 lunch buffet during the week. Is it fancy? No. Is the food good? For the price, it sure is. The husband and wife who run the place are unbelievably nice. Both are always smiling and happy to see whoever is dining in. During one visit I must have been especially thirsty because the Mrs. filled my water four times. It can get busy during lunch rush so beware you might have to wait, but it usually isn't a long wait. You'll be able to make it through the line a couple of times and back to work in plenty of time.

People do not be deceived by the outward appearance! When you walk in you are welcomed by the most delightful couple that owns it. This has been my family and I's go to Chinese restaurant since I was 7 . Consistency is key in Chinese cuisine and they always deliver ! From the best egg drop soup to the creamy crab rangoons....."sigh"..... I'm sitting here waiting for my take out as I type. General tsos chicken- spicy goodness! Sesame chicken -perfect sauce . Did I mention the crab rangoons? You think you've had the best you're WRONG!

Dropped the kids off at Worlds of Fun & checked Yelp for a nearby place to eat Chinese food before I took McD's back to the kids for lunch. Thanks, Yelp. I would never have found this place without you & I would not have tried it if it were not for the great reviews. Just 1 mi north of WOF and right across the street from McD's. Lunch buffet was excellent. It will be my "go to" place to eat when in the area in the future.

Best bang for the buck ...especially if you are a fan of Hot and Sour Soup. It is the BEST I have ever had. I love the Yu Shaing Pork, Twice Cooked Pork and several other dishes. Their lunch buffet is smaller than some, but the food is always good and fresh.

Great Springfield Style Cashew Chicken!!! And the people that run it are very friendly. I wish their Crab Rangoon was a little bit sweet and then it would be perfect.

Great Chinese for a whole in the wall in Claycomo! They are very fast and pretty tasty. We typically call in orders and head straight there to pick it up. Only crappy thing is that they are closed on Sundays! Update: made this first review after eating here my first couple if times. After some reflection, i had to upgrade them because I love their food...and the service is excellent! Sundays is still a negative, but I guess that keeps me a little healthier, because I could eat there all the time.

This is the second Chinese Restaurant in this location. The first was there for approximately 15 years until the owner retired for health reasons. The new Chinese Gardens was family owned and has now been there for over 20 years. We eat here at least once or twice a week. The lunch buffet is reasonably priced and filling. It ends at 2:00pm but the lunch specials are still available from the menu. They also do a thriving carry out business. Located in Claycomo Shopping Center strip mall this is a favorite dining spot for locals and travelers. Their Egg Drop Soup and Crab Ragoon are my yardstick by which to judge all others. They have a small, limited buffet compared to other local Chinese establishments but this has never dimmed the eating experience. The owners are normally your servers and the cooks have been here for years so the food is consistently prepared. The menu is extensive. My favorite is their Garlic Chicken and also a nontypical concoction for supper, made of shrimp with cheese. The spicy dishes are marked so you have no surprises but they will adjust the seasonings if requested. For a light meal try a bowl of their Spring Garden Soup and a pot of hot Jasmine tea. The owners are friendly and if you eat here often you will soon make friends with all the regulars.

This is a friendly, family-owned restaurant. The food is well prepared and nicely served. Lunch has a buffet or menu and dinner has menu. They are eager to please even the picky eater. Ask and they will do whatever you need: no salt, no MSG, etc.

First time trying Chinese garden and had a hard time finding it. Tried an assortment of different foods like the sesame chicken, ragoons, and egg foo young. The only thing i didn't like was the ragoons which my girlfriend loved and the egg foo young had too much gravy. I wish they would have put it on the side instead if smothering the egg foo young with it. Every thing else was pretty tasty and it satisfied my once a month Chinese food craving. I recommend it if your looking for some Chinese food outside of the fast food panda express.

This little restaurant is our go to Chinese place. It's close to the fiancé ' s work & close to all our city errands. Also, it's the best Chinese food in the area, hands down. We generally go for the buffet. It's tiny, so the food is always always fresh and hot. The place is packed at lunch time so be prepared to wait, or sit with people you don't know at the long tables. Their lunch menu is extremely low priced for the amount of food you get. I truly recommend this place to everyone I know, and I recommend you give it a try as well!

Watch out for the lunch buffet. It's small and the place is crowded. You'll have to wait for your food and it runs out quick. If you come any other time of day there is no buffet. You have to order from the menu. The portions are rather generous. You'll probably be able to split your dish with someone.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
